OHRC is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that relies on the contributions of individuals and organizations to fund its operations. As such, once contributions are made, they are utilized in the organization’s ongoing activities and development programs aimed at safeguarding human rights in Odisha.

We acknowledge and respect the contributions made by our members, but it is important to understand that all donations, including membership fees, are non-refundable. Once a membership fee or donation is paid, the funds are considered a part of OHRC’s operating and developmental resources. These resources are dedicated to furthering our mission, providing legal aid, supporting human rights advocacy, and empowering communities in need.

• Members may choose to discontinue their membership at any time during their subscription period. However, as per our policy, no refund will be issued for any portion of the membership fee or donation already paid.
• In case of any extraordinary circumstances, OHRC will consider the matter on a case-by-case basis. However, please note that refunds are not generally issued under normal circumstances, as the funds have already been allocated to support OHRC's operations.

We offer specific categories of free or discounted membership to ensure that human rights are accessible to all, regardless of financial status. Below are the special categories and their respective policies:

• BPL Cardholders: Free membership is available to individuals holding a Below Poverty Line (BPL) card. These memberships are granted to ensure equal participation in our advocacy and rights protection activities. Please note that while this membership is free, the contribution made is non-refundable.
• Handicapped Persons: OHRC offers free membership to handicapped individuals as part of our commitment to inclusivity. As with all free memberships, the contribution is non-refundable, and we ensure that these members receive the necessary support in their advocacy for human rights.
• Women Leaders: As part of our ongoing support for gender equality, OHRC offers discounted and free membership to women leaders. The discounted membership fee is significantly reduced, but, like other membership categories, these fees are non-refundable.

Members are required to renew their membership annually by paying the specified renewal fee. The renewal fee is set at ₹500 per year. Please note that membership renewal is not subject to any refund under any circumstances, as it contributes to the continued operations and activities of the organization. By renewing your membership, you confirm your commitment to supporting human rights and justice in Odisha.

OHRC is committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency and accountability. All contributions, whether from members, donors, or other supporters, are used to advance the cause of human rights in Odisha. We ensure that funds are utilized responsibly and effectively to support our programs, such as:

• Advocacy for marginalized communities
• Legal support and education for individuals facing human rights violations
• Research, reporting, and awareness campaigns on pressing human rights issues
• Training and capacity building programs to empower local leaders and communities
• Humanitarian support for victims of social injustice, violence, and discrimination

OHRC is dedicated to ensuring that every penny donated is used to create tangible, lasting change. We provide regular reports and updates to our members and donors, detailing the progress of our initiatives and the impact of their contributions. The contributions we receive are essential for funding various activities and projects, such as:

• Organizing public awareness campaigns to highlight human rights issues
• Engaging in advocacy with policymakers to create change
• Running educational programs that teach individuals about their rights
• Providing resources and support for grassroots organizations

While the policy is non-refundable in general, OHRC will review any refund requests that are made due to errors in payment processing or concerns about fraudulent activity. If you believe an error has occurred, please contact our support team immediately. We will investigate the issue and take necessary actions to resolve it. However, we emphasize that this does not apply to standard membership or donation payments.

Your membership fee, donation, or support is more than just a financial transaction; it is a commitment to the human rights cause in Odisha.
